Our Other Adventures

Guided Fly Fishing

Our stretch of the Whanganui River is well known for some of the best trout fishing in the world. Taumarunui hosted the 2020 Commonwealth Fly Fishing Championships and the 2009 World Fly Fishing Championships among others.

Whether you’re a novice or an experienced angler, we can tailor a fishing trip to your requirements.  Join our fly fishing guide, previous NZ champion Peter Scott, for expert tuition at secret fishing spots known only by the locals and experience the moods of our river as it runs through bush blocks and farmland. Or for the more experienced angler, choose a trip into absolute wilderness to the headwaters.

Clay Bird Target Shooting

Experience the traditional rural fun of clay bird target shooting at our private shooting range with our entertaining tutor, Tony Brogdan.  Tony has been involved with disabled shooting for many years attending international Para trap shooting competitions from 2011, gaining three golds and one silver from 2011 – 2017. He has been a two-time member of the NZ Open Clay Target Shooting Team and member of the NZ Paralympics team in 2019.
